Blusher Edit

Next up in My Beauty Edit series, my blusher edit.  I'm comparing cream, powder & liquid blushers, pinks and peaches, mattes and shimmers. The whole shebang!

Blusher is the one of the best ways to lift your face and definitely helps make you look less tired.  We can all do with that sometimes!  A gentle flush brings youthful prettiness to all skin tones and types.

Haybarn Spa, The Cotswolds

Bamford Haybarn in the Cotswolds is a centre of wellbeing, that nurtures the mind, body and spirit, based around a heartfelt connection with nature.

The Haybarn Spa offers a number of wellness programmes, yoga, pilates, facials and massages. The day spa is located on Daylesford Farm which I wrote a post about a few weeks ago and now it's time for the spa review.

The AllBright, London

Founded by Anna Jones &  Debbie Wosskow OBE , The AllBright is the first space of its kind in the UK for women to create, connect and collaborate. The beautiful 5-storey Georgian Townhouse is an oasis in the heart of the capital for working women. The club will be a space for women to thrive. So, what made me want to join?

Daylesford Organic Farm

I'm sure you have heard of Daylesford Organic Farm but I had completely underestimated the scale of it.  I was blown away by it and think you will be too.

Situated in the heart of The Cotswolds, near Kingham, Daylesford has undertaken a significant expansion plan, and now offers a farm shop, home & garden ware, fashion, a restaurant, a cafe, cottages, flower arranging courses and even a cookery school.  Did I mention, there's also a spa?

Concealer Edit

In the second in the series, this week, it's my concealer edit.  Is it worth spending money on concealer or can you get away with a more purse friendly option?

The most critical thing with make-up, and concealer in particular, is skincare preparation.  I always make a special effort to prep the under eye area with a hydrating eye cream which refreshes the skin, plumps away fine lines and creates a smooth canvas for concealer.  But which concealer to buy?

The Wild Rabbit, Kingham

Described by some as "the poshest pub in the country", The Wild Rabbit has a lovely traditional feel with a modern twist.

Having never visited The Cotswolds before (it's true!) it really is so very pretty. If you imagine a typical 'chocolate box' country spot, you won't be disappointed as that exactly what you'll find.

Mascara Edit

I promised a more in depth look into certain product categories, and up first is my favourite product, mascara.  I couldn't live without it and if I could only have one make-up product, this would be it.

But is it worth investing in expensive ones?  How much do you spend on mascara?  I have to admit to be a bit of a mascara snob so spend a fair bit on my mascara.  But is it worth the investment, I'm going to find out!

The Pig Near Bath

Before starting a new job, I decided to treat myself to a bit of a staycation and go to Bath, Bristol & The Cotswolds.  It's been really fun deciding where to go and I've also been able to tie it in with visiting friends who now live out of London.

First stop is The Pig near Bath, a mellow country house perfectly situated near Bath and Bristol, where I was greeted by a swan in the car park!

New Home Office Inspiration

New Year, New Job.  Next month I start a new job having been at my previous company for just over 10 years.  It's an exciting time and something I'm really looking forward to.

It's also made me reassess a few things and realise that the one of the rooms in my house is wasted as a bedroom.  For 360 days a year, it's currently not used at all and I've realised that's ridiculous so I'm turning it into a home office.

5 Make Up Must-Haves

I've made no secret of just how much of a beauty addict I am.  If I showed you quite how large my collection of make-up is I'm not sure you would believe it.  If I bothered to do some maths and added quite how much money I have spent on it all, I think I'd be horrified.  I'm not going to do that.

But, there are a few products that I could not live without and I wear most days.

Getting back into cooking

New year, new health kick!!  Now I know that's a little bit of a cliché, but I'm pretty sure most of you will have made some kind of commitment to exercise more, eat healthier or drink less.  Perhaps you're even doing 'Dry January"? How's it going?

When it comes to cooking, Jamie Oliver's 5 Ingredients is literally the only thing I am reaching for at the moment and I'm sharing some of my favourite recipes from it with you.

Dressing table loveliness

If you're a regular reader, you'll know that I have developed somewhat of an obsession with make-up & beauty (exhibit A: look at all those make-up brushes) so a dressing table has become a must when it came to choosing a dressing table, I struggled to find one I liked, that was narrow enough and not too pricey.

New Year Positivity

2018 is going to be your year.  A bit of a different post this week as I reflect on 2017, it's ups & downs and my goals for the new year ahead.  2017 wasn't the easiest year but I'm going into the new year feeling positive and that anything is possible.  I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions, so my list is mostly about mind-set and things I want to do.

Rick Stein, Sandbanks

The start of the Festivities meant a Father/Daughter supper back home in Dorset.  Rick Stein in Sandbanks opened in November 2015 at an iconic spot on the Sandbanks peninsula so it seemed a fitting location for supper tonight.  My Brother's 21st birthday was at the very same spot, albeit under a different name, so it always brings back family memories.  Dad told me the the first time he went to a Rick Stein's was in 1985 at the original Padstow restaurant so he knows a thing or two.

Annie's in Barnes, London

When I moved to Barnes last year, I quickly learnt that Annie's was somewhat of a local institution.  I've enjoyed exploring the local establishments, Barnes is very lucky as there are lots to choose from.  Coffee shops, pubs & restaurants are plentiful but there are a few that I rate higher than others.  There are so many great places to visit in SW London, I'm going to share some of my favourites with you.  First up, is Annie's.

Double Cleansing for life

At this time of year, I don't know about you, but my skin is definitely feeling it.  Let's face it, by mid-December we have all had a long year - work, life, fun, maybe a glass of wine or two & now the cold weather, can play havoc with our skin.  I've been taking some extra time to really look after my skin recently and that includes Double Cleansing. But what is it all about?

The next in my Christmas series - My Christmas Gift Edit.  If you're still stuck on what to buy your friends and family for Christmas, hopefully you might find some inspiration here.

There are a few cheeky discounts at the end of the post which might help you, and of course the winner of week 1 of my Advent Giveaway is announced.

Deck the halls

I'm one of those people who loves Christmas but not as much as my Mum!  I love the build up the most - decorating the house, buying the presents and deciding on which wrapping paper to use this year.

I really see my Christmas tree and decorations as an extension of my style and want to make sure it complements the all-year-round decor in the house.  I change it up every few years and literally start again, although there are always some sentimental pieces that remain.

I'm also annoyingly organised when it comes to buying presents and if I see the perfect gift for someone in June, I buy it anyway and keep it in my present drawer until Christmas arrives!
