This week, we celebrated International Women's Day.  At first the idea of Feminism was something I didn't think was for me.  I assumed being a feminist meant thinking women are better than men, burning my bra and never letting a man hold a door open for me ever again.  I couldn't have been more wrong.

With the World Economic Forum's 2017 Global Gender Gap Report findings telling us that gender parity is over 200 years away - there has never been a more important time to keep motivated and #PressforProgress. And with global activism for women's equality fuelled by movements like #MeToo#TimesUp and more - there is a strong global momentum striving for gender parity.  While we know that gender parity won't happen overnight, the good news is that across the world women are making positive gains day by day.

So, what does it actually mean to be a Feminist?  I've learnt it's simply about equality and believing men & women deserve the same rights.  If that's you too, join me in proudly call yourself a feminist.

At first, my support of a new members club where only women can be members, might seem at odds with what I have just said, and when I first heard about it, I really had to stop and think.  Whilst men are very welcome at The AllBright, only women are eligible for membership.   Is this something I agree with?  Why is it necessary?  It would be great to think that the playing field is level for men & women but, so often, sadly that is not the case.

Economic independence and space to create remain essential to professional success. The AllBright, the member's club for working women, recently opened in the heart of Bloomsbury, is a nod to the progressive ideals of Woolf and her friends.

Founded by Anna Jones & Debbie Wosskow OBE, The AllBright is the first space of its kind in the UK for women to create, connect and collaborate. The beautiful 5-storey Georgian Townhouse is an oasis in the heart of the capital for working women. The club will be a space for women to thrive.

Members will access space to work, host meetings and socialise along with curated events, talks, exhibitions, debates and networking meet-ups. There are even onsite treatment rooms to allow members to relax, recharge and meditate.  Each floor is named after a famous female associated with The Bloomsbury Set which is a nice nod to the past.

As you would expect, the space is beautiful and an Instagram dream.  Designed by No.12 Studio, the space combines the traditional with the contemporary.  An eclectic mixture of furniture, lighting, flowers & artwork, make for an environment where you can feel inspired and included.

After a launch party and a couple of week's soft launch to iron out any kinks, The AllBright fully opens its doors tomorrow.  Founder members include female entrepreneurs, executives, creatives and consultants across all industries.  And me!!  I decided to put my reservations aside and see the huge positives that can come from being in an environment where women can truly support each other, drive their own productivity, indulge in a bit of pampering and even enjoy a glass of bubbles or two.

"Ultimately, we all need support from our very own 'girl gang' because, let's be honest, #sisterhoodworks"

AllBright membership is priced at £750, plus a joining fee of £300, whilst a discount for under 27s or those committing to membership for 3 years currently applies.  I can't wait to start enjoying my new "home in the city".  Come join me!

I would love to hear about your favourite places to visit, beauty products you're loving or new brands you have discovered so I can give them a go, so do get in touch.

Thanks for reading, until next Sunday,

From Charlotte x

And finally, I can't let this day go by, without saying a huge Happy Mother's Day to my amazing Mummy!  She makes me smile every day, she's my best friend and even though she doesn't know it, she's my absolute inspiration.  And as she's so incredibly supportive, she reads my blog every week, so she will be reading this.  Mummy, I love you so much and we are all so lucky to have you (especially Grandma & Pappa!!) xx

Here's to all the Mother's who are rocking it each & every day!
